Welsh musician shares latest remix of ‘Arisen my senses’ by BJÖRK.
Currently, in the midst of a run of US dates, supporting her debut LP released last year, Owens has announced her largest London headline show to date today. Billed for November at London’s Village Underground. Welsh musician and producer, Kelly Lee Owens released her critically acclaimed self-titled debut LP last year, it was touted by the likes of Guardian, Mixmag, Vogue and Pitchfork as one of the albums of 2017.
More recently, Owens has released a run of well-received remixes by artists such as St Vincent, Jenny Hval and more. Owens most recently shared a rework and remix of, Björk’s, ‘Arisen My Senses’. Owens says this of the remix:
“I felt a standard techno // dance remix wouldn’t do all the juiciness of the track // stems justice .. this is one of the first times I used almost only the parts from the original artist, as they were too good not too!! I wanted to TRY to extract EVEN MORE joy ( if it’s poss) out of the sounds than when I first heard them – which is why the final “chorus” is so bright & shiny !! – full crescendo !!”
