London group announce new album, Up! Via Bella Union.

North London band, Ultimate Painting, based around lead frontmen Jack Cooper and James Hoare, have signed up with Bella Union for the new LP, the much awaited Up! out on April 6th. Lead single from the upcoming album ‘Not Gonna Burn Myself Anymore’, is a stripped back track reminiscent of Elliot Smith, with it’s melancholic and introspective ruminations intertwining a simple psychedelic guitar jangle. Accompanying the track is a noir-esq video following the band backstage from a show in and around London. Jack had this to say about their upcoming LP release: “If it ends tomorrow, I’d feel really good about the work we’ve done together. There’s a cohesion to it but most of all they’re records that we made of music that we wanted to hear. We don’t really have an agenda other than that.” Can’t say fairer than that.
