Bully have revealed the first single ‘Where to Start’ from their impending third studio album SUGAREGG, released via Sub Pop Records on 21st August.
Since their previous full-length release, Losing in 2017, it’s been a meditative time for Bully’s assiduous singer Alicia Bognanno. Battling issues with her bipolar disorder, Bognanno finally found essential treatment which impacted her writing more profoundly than expected: “Being able to finally navigate that opened the door for me to write about it,” she says, altering her headspace “made me want to write and bring that pleasure to other people.”
Co-produced by John Congleton (The War On Drugs, Modest Mouse), SUGAREGG is a roaring response to Bognanno dismantling her own ego, her own insecurities, her creative process; it’s a retrospective of an era firmly behind her.
