Faye Webster announces new album, I Know I’m Funny haha, + new single ‘Cheers’

Faye Webster has announced details of her fourth full-length album I Know I’m Funny haha, set for release on 25th via Secretly Canadian. The press release comes alongside news of a US tour this Autumn and new single ‘Cheers‘.

The Atlanta artist’s typically wry humour bleeds through the new single, with the chuggy blues riff acting at the lynchpin throughout, only to be punctuated by the lead guitar’s jangly overtones and Webster’s fragile, distinct vocal. Bulking up her rhythm section for her new album, ‘Cheers’ suggests a shift away from the aching and breezy balladry of 2019’s Atlanta Millionaires Club

Talking about the record, Webster said: “Growth is really important to me. I hope people will relate to my songs, and not just be like ‘this is a good record’ but ‘this makes me feel something. This is making me think differently, this is making me question things.’ I told myself a few years ago that I was going to be more honest in my songwriting, that honesty is the best route to take with music. If I have a voice and people are listening to me, I’m not going to waste it.”

At only 23 years of age and already on her soon-to-be fourth album, Webster’s an indie wunderkind on the rise. After debuting ‘Cheers’ on her recent KEXP From Home appearance several weeks back, take a look at the single’s accompanying music video:
