Manchester Psych Fest 2021: Stereolab, Tinariwen, Girl Band lead the lineup

Manchester Psych Fest have dropped their first lineup announcement for their long overdue 2021 edition, with Anglo-Franco avant-pop pioneers Stereolab leading the way alongside Malian folk-rock legends Tinariwen and noise-punks Girl Band.

Taking place across various venues in Manchester on Saturday 4th September, the day-festival will also welcome sets from Dry Cleaning, KOKOROKO, Kikagaku Moyo, Porridge Radio, Bo Ningen, Stealing Sheep,
Whyte Horses, Billy Nomates, Crack Cloud, Los Bitchos, and PINS.

With an initial lineup spanning the spectrum of psych, indie, punk, and folk, there’s also a hefty roster of up-and-comers including Sinead O’Brien, The Lounge Society, Skullcrusher, Yard Act, Julia Bardo, The Goa Express, and Jessica Winter.

Despite the lack of a government insurance scheme, festival lineups are coming in thick and fast such is the desire to restart live music and get back to gigs. There’s still more artists expected to be announced, but based on these names we’ll be there getting trippy.
