Ventnor Fringe 2021: Gengahr, Billy Nomates, Los Bitchos, Do Nothing join lineup

Ventnor Fringe, the Isle of Wight’s critically acclaimed multi-disciplinary festival have announced their first names for their 2021 edition, with saccharine psych-pop four-piece Gengahr leading the way.

Joining them so far are Sleaford Mods collaborator and no-waver Billy Nomates (whose father is a local resident), Cumbia-infused indie-psych band Los Bitchos (pictured), and Nottingham art-punks Do Nothing.

An odd-box of varying talent spanning music, theatre, art installations, comedy, pop-up performances, and some drag cabaret for good measure, Ventnor Fringe festival has engulfed the antiquated coastal town of Ventnor (below) for over a decade, with the exception of last year for obvious reasons.

Extended to a 10-day excursion this year to make up for lost time, the festival expects to welcome over 150 performers from around the country to the distinct seaside town.

With shows capped at 200 people per performance the festival aims to temper expectations about it even being able to go ahead, creating a level of intimacy and exclusivity as an offshoot.

Ventnor Fringe Festival 2021 takes place from 23rd July – 1st August. For more info on the full lineup and tickets, visit their website here.
